The Founder
Mr. Issa Jalil Karmout
1937 – 2019 · Founder & Director, Kamco Office (1960 – 2019)
Born in 1937, Mr. Issa Jalil Karmout was a visionary merchant who understood that Jordan's growing economy needed reliable access to international food commodities. In 1960, he founded Kamco Office — a name derived from his family name, Karmout — in the heart of Amman.
Over nearly six decades, he personally built trade relationships across Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Spain, the United States, Denmark and beyond. His approach was always the same: deep product knowledge, honest dealing, and long-term thinking over short-term profit.
When Mr. Karmout passed away in 2019, he left behind not just a business, but a reputation — one that his family continues to honour to this day.

1960
The Foundation
Mr. Issa Jalil Karmout establishes Kamco Office in Amman, Jordan — a one-man brokerage connecting local buyers with international food commodity suppliers.
1970s
Expanding Trade Routes
Kamco builds direct relationships with producers in Cyprus, Greece, Italy and Spain. The office becomes a trusted name for canned goods, oils and spices across Jordan.

Reaching the Americas

Dairy and milk powder trade routes open through Denmark and Scandinavia, adding a new category to the growing Kamco portfolio.

A Legacy Honoured
